Garden

Welcome to Springtime at the RGB!

With a third of an acre, there’s plenty of room for edible (and non-edible) goods. Here’s a few snapshots of recent goodies from the garden:

Meyer lemons

March 21, 2010: Meyer lemons off of tree # 2.

Mizuna lettuce

March 21, 2010: Mizuna lettuce.

Barry's Birthday Garden

Tarragon

March 16, 2010: Tarragon, making a comeback.

Nasturtium

March 13, 2010: Edible nasturtium; nice salad addition.

Chives

February 25, 2010: Chives, reappearing after the winter cold!

Dill

February 25, 2010: Dill, also making it’s way back.

Lavender

February 14, 2010: First bee of the season, sucking on lavender.

Broccoli

February 14, 2010: First of the broccoli this season, here in the late afternoon light.

Garden lettuce

February 2, 2010: Mixed garden lettuce, here in a mid-winter salad.

We strive to incorporate the edible garden into our recipes. When we do, we’ll cross-post them below because it’s kind of fun to see how we’re using what we’ve got. As it stands, it looks like the mighty thyme is our aromatic winner.

For the local viewers, please let us know if you want any of these; we always have more than we could use.

Also, below is a complete inventory of edibles that are growing (or has grown) at the RGB. Enjoy!
