We slept in on Sunday morning and as a result were the last two kids to breakfast. Fortunately, Connie and Karl still had some salmon and bagels for us, along with coffee, fresh orange juice and champagne. After breakfast, I fetched the new RGB camera (Canon EOS Rebel XS), tucked the manual into my back pocket and went out to play.
In the above photo, I’m in the backyard of the Loma Vista B&B looking out towards the future Europa Vineyard Estates (and Europa Village), which recently announced a groundbreaking. Hard to believe that in a few years, this scene will include an entire village. Below, some more pictures of subjects on the property at the B&B.
Our post-breakfast walk included a stroll back down to La Serena Road, where we encountered a vineyard with grapes still attached. Beautiful, yes?
A few more snapshots along our mid-day visit to town:
We paid a visit to the Temecula Olive Oil Company. Among other things, we walked out with a bottle of basil-infused olive oil, pomegranate vinegar and white honey balsamic vinegar. And from the Old Town Spice Merchants on the other side of town, we picked up some truffle salt, dried cranberries and dried blueberries.
And now, we return to our regularly scheduled programming. Please stay tuned to see how we use up these goodies!
Where was the destination to your last weekend getaway?!
Update 11/2/2010: Friends of the RGB with a post about Temecula:
