For the record, we’re uber flattered by the #FF mentions on Twitter, but we’re not always at good at reciprocating the love.
That’s because I leave for the office at 6:45 AM on Friday mornings and don’t come home ‘till date nite’s over. (Yes, Mr. RGBistro and I still go to date nite. Every week… without fail.)
So, while thinking of ways to reciprocate the love, we came up with an idea – dedicating a whole blog entry to someone we’d like to give a shout-out to.
The other bonus is that this exercise gets the RGB on a more regular posting program… something we’ve been lacking since that trip to the Caribbean, then that trip to the Sonoma Wine Country, then that Camp Blogaway thing in Big Bear, then that last weekend in Santa Barbara…
This is the first weekend we’ve really been HOME since about the first week of April. While Mr. RGBistro celebrated by weeding through our entire property, I took refuge in the shade of the dining-room-turned-home-office to catch up on blogging work.
Debra from smithbites
Debra and The Professor live in the mid-west. I’ve never met Debra, but feel that if she were my next-door neighbor, I’d have her over for a glass of time, all day, everyday. She cooks, gardens, AND travels. Sounds like the kind of life the RGB leads.
So with Mr. RGBistro gardening out back yesterday, and armed with our strawberries and way-past-season Meyer lemons, I was about to make him some strawberry lemonade when I thought about Debra’s strawberry lemonade post. In addition to the usual suspects, it had Prosecco, sparking water, and mint.
Wait a minute…. the RGB has Prosecco in the fridge… San Pellegrino in the fridge… and mint growing in the garden.
Then the duh moment hit me.
I grabbed the shears, foraged in the garden, swiped bottles out of the fridge and went to work. Fifteen minutes later, this is what I came up with:

When you visit, let her know that you think her pictures are waaaaaaay better than mine; these beverages are so tricky to shoot!

OMG Kim – I JUST LOVE YOU!!! And not just because you posted this, but girl, you are soooo right – next door neighbors who’d be BFFs and sharing Lord knows what! I’m sure our husbands would be rolling their eyes!
And can I just say that it’s sooooo good to have you back in the blogging world?!!
Smoochies
PS Go ahead and add some limoncello w/the Prosecco next time – even better!
Limoncello is on the list.
It was a lovely beverage, thank you!!!
I’d pull weeds to get a glass of that yummy looking brew! Happy Memorial Day kids! Steve
Hope it’s not gettin’ too hot for you yet.
Looks delicious!
Thanks! It was.
Hope you get access to some garden strawberries this spring. They should be at their best right now!
